I’ve had a busy week between work and unpacking and everything else life throws around I have hardly had a chance to blog at all. I just wanted to make a super quick post telling a little story about the moving process, well, not so much moving but the settling in part.
I mentioned in my last post how I was writing it from my mom’s house because we were still waiting for wifi. Luckily we have it now, but boy, it was such an ordeal trying to get it!
Joey called the company to inquire about the wifi and turned out we were getting a pretty good deal, they were going to send us a router free of charge and a 45 day trial period to see how we like it, super cool! They said it should come in 5-7 business days, naturally it showed up on our doorstep on day 7.
We took it out and set it up like kids on Christmas morning but we couldn’t connect to it at all, which was so disappointing. We called tech support to ask what was going on and to find a solution to the problem on three different days and each time they said “it will 100% be working tomorrow”. Never started working.
The part that was most frustrating was that the people on the other side of the phone hardly spoke English at all, so the language barrier made everything so much harder to figure out. After 5 day of having a router and it not working we finally got a hold someone from sales who got someone to come over to take a look at it. Turns out the wiring in the apartment was super old, so the guy switched them out for new ones and now it works like a charm!
The thing that was most annoying was that we are new customers and a majority of the time we received terrible customer service, with the exception of the very last encounter we had with them, and the fact that every day they just said wait until tomorrow. Figuring out wifi has been one of the most stressful and frustrating adult things I have had to deal with. It was so tough because the tech support people could hardly understand english at all and would constantly put you on hold for over 20 minutes at a time.
Have you had to deal with anything like this at all?
