DIY Map Coasters!

Hey there guys!

Sorry I haven’t blogged in like a week, but I got sick this week and have been working weird hours, not like I really need to give you any sort of excuse. I feel like I have talked about doing DIY posts for so long and guess what? This is the day I am finally doing it!

I have had all the things for this DIY laying around the house for so long so I thought why not do it today? Today I made some super cool map coasters! They were super easy to make and look super cute! Our apartment had a subtle travel theme around the house, so I think that this is a super cute little thing to add to it!

What you’ll need:

  • Scrapbook paper – I found some cool map prints at the craft store that I got, but if there’s anything else you like then go for it!
  • 20170223_111438Mod podge
  • A sponge brush
  • Wooden squares – I also found a pack of 4 at the craft store that were the perfect size, any tile will work too!
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Hot glue gun

The first thing I did was I traced around the squares on top of the parts of the maps where I wanted it to be on the coasters and then cut them out.

I poured a little bit of the mod podge into a little bowl and dipped in my sponge brush and coated each piece of wood and just lined up my papers onto the wood the best I could to secure it on.

After I let them try I put some hot glue on the bottom just so it won’t slide around surfaces and scratch them, if you have felt of cork, that would work too!

That’s basically all I did, it was super easy and pretty quick to make, plus I think it is so much better to make your own so that you can add your own unique touch!
