Hey there guys!
I have a really exciting and life changing recipe to share! Are you ready for this? The combination that has been missing from your life. Two words. Wine. Brownies. I found this recipe on Pinterest a couple months ago and have been wanting to try it out for some time now, but I finally made them and I just needed to share it with you!
I used the recipe from Broma Bakery but changed it up a tiny bit, but feel free to refer to this one like I did, or mine. I don’t have a standing mixer (I really want one though) so I had to sort of improvised. I also used dark chocolate instead of bittersweet chocolate just because that’s my favorite.
The recipe also says wine but not what kind, I went with cupcake wine because it’s a good dark red wine that has a strong flavor that I really like, I would also consider it a semi-sweet wine, sweet but not too sweet or anything like that. I was really pleased with my wine choice because you could taste the flavor of the wine in the brownie, but in the best way you wouldn’t expect. They are just so good.
Did I mention how fudgy these brownies are? Hmmm. Well, let’s get started!
What you’ll need:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 4 ounces dark chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 red wine (don’t tell anyone, but I spilled in a little extra…shhhhhh, it still tasted amazing though!)
What you’ll do:
Preheat oven to 350F and grease an 8×8 baking dish.
In a small saucepan, melt butter and then add in chocolate, stir together until it is smooth and beautiful.
In a bowl add in the light brown sugar and the melted chocolate mixture and beat together until it turns a lighter brown color.
Since I didn’t have a standing mixer I added in one egg, beat it in, and then added in the second one and beat until it was incorporated together.
Then I added in cocoa powder, flour, salt, vanilla extract, and wine one at a time and mixing between each item, like I did for the eggs.
Once all of the ingredients were added in I beat the better for another 30 seconds just to be sure there weren’t any lumps left in there.
I then poured the batter into my pan and baked it between 30-40 minutes. The time varies depending on your oven, I set my timer for thirty minutes and then checked on them every couple minutes after just to be sure they were done properly without them overbaking. You’ll know when they are done when you poke it with a knife and it comes out clean!
I poked mine all over the place just to be sure. This is the perfect brownie recipe because the top is flaky but these are one of the most fudgy and delicious brownies I have tried. The wine adds a lot of dimension to them too and it really something different!
I topped mine with whipped cream and a raspberry and ate it warm because I just couldn’t wait! If you know me you know I love anything chocolatey and I love wine, putting them together is like a dream come true! These are seriously super fudgy and delicious I recommend you try them and let me know what you think!
